Red Fox Strawberry Jewelry Box Handmade Clay Box

How do I even begin?! I love these little boxes. I start by throwing a completely closed form on the wheel and once it's hard like cheese I can begin to open it and turn it into the form you see. I cut the lid and trim the foot, add little feet to the bottom to make it proud, then I get to sculpted this little red fox. Each one is carefully hand sculpted and posed to fit the lid and then it's cleaned up and left to dry . After an initial firing in the kiln I can then begin to paint it and decorate the body. Then it's glazed in all the right places and fired again. This fox in bright red features a snowy coating like a first snowfall is just beginning and it remains unglazed while the main box is glazed.
